Mike the Headless Chicken

This site was really interesting. I first found out about Mike several years ago when I first started raising chickens. I somehow just happened to come upon "his" official website & was amazed at his story to say the least. One of the things I didn't know though was that after WWII Mike was the highest paid entertainer in the USA. Wow. Unfortunately, his demise in a hotel rooms sounds all too familiar.
I guess Mike goes to show that really nothing is impossible when all the small parts are working together in perfect harmony.

The whole thing sounds like it's from an episode of The Simpsons.

I can picture it now as a guest on the Crusty the Clown show. Or in the hot food cabinet at the Kwik-E Mart. Or Lisa tries to save it, but inadvertently kills it.

Oh the possibilities are endless

thats sad to choke to death and you dont even eat, it wasnt his fault that stinks

No kidding. Makes me ponder the idea of being without hearing, sight, the sense of touch including pain, and taste. Very deep questions there.

So when he had none of these senses did he really suffer when he died?

I agree. I can see how that would make a perfect episode of "The Simpsons" or even "Southpark" possibly!

I wonder if they ate him afterall......I don't think I could.

That really would be akin to something like "biting the hand that feeds you", considering the fact that Mike made them quite a bit of "moo-lah".

I definitely couldn't have eaten him, but then all my chickens are true pets & I can't eat my chickens at all. (If I were starving - yes. Sob.) I'm even having trouble trying to tackle the first scrambled goose egg. (Somehow the thought of it grosses me out for some reason I don't completely understand.)

By the way no one has commented yet about The Egg and I movie. It's really a great old black & white, and funny.
