I have a bunch of wood and plywood that has been outside under a tarp all winter and part of it has mildew on it. This was a big shipping crate that our sauna was delivered in, and I then stored our firewood in it. Now that that has gone, I was eyeing the plywood floor and ceiling of this crate to recycle into a poopboard for my coop to be. There is also a whole bunch of 1x4 that I could use in the coop in one fashion or another. The wood seems to be structurally in tact, no rot as far as I can see, just mildew from moisture being trapped under the tarp.

So, not to risk making my whole brand new coop infected with mildew, is there any foolproof way of killing and removing the mildew? Is scrubbing it with water and bleach enough? SHould I soak it? Keep it in the sun? Or should I not be stingy and just throw the whole bunch in the trash?

Your advise?
