Can I join in too, please? I am ex Royal Air Force, as was my late Dad in WW2. His Dad died after being torpedoed (for the 2nd time) during WW1. My career was brought to a very sudden halt, care of a drunken driver in 1976, so I know just how tough it is to get over injuries, no matter how they were caused. I was in Air Traffic Control and my last 18 months were dealing with anything that declared an emergency, civvy or military. My husband has no connection with the Forces, although his Dad did National Service during the 1950's in the British Army.
My Service era saw the Cold War and for we Brits, the delights of the IRA.
My thoughts and prayers are with all those who serve, no matter what nationality, both during their time of Service and when they return to civvy street. May your God Bless and keep you safely, both physically and mentally.
