eb down can vary a lot. It is affected quite a lot by various restrictor & pattern genes. eb on its own is brown.

Thanks. That's what I've been suspecting. It's a hard one for me to get a handle on!

Hi everyone, I'm sorry I haven't been around for a while. I've been super busy.

I've got some new hatches from the last pair I posted on here a few weeks ago. WOW, they are strange. I've got 4 different colors of down fuzz. I'll try and take some pictures this weekend to show you.

Anyway I hope you're all getting ready for the fall, Josh

Please don't mention autumn......I'm trying not to think about the dreaded winter.

The pictures make me impatient for my babies, 08/21/09 to get bigger so I can see their pattern and sex. Seeing these beautiful birds makes the time go by slower.

They are SO beautiful, Shylee! I can't wait for my babies to grow up and have babies so I can raise some of my own. Java & Splash have settled in nicely and my second pair should be coming in next week. I'm afraid I'll have to wait until Spring to give my pullets time to grow up before hatching any babies though. This is the most fun I've had since getting started raising Shetland sheep!

Lots of pages here to read and catch up on so I will ask a question from a newbie Mille Cochin lover....
Are they all in bantams right now? Has anyone worked on standard size Mille?
Just curious. I have flocks in both sizes and love them all for different reasons and of course, Cochins just rule anyhow!

I'm working on standards as well as the bantams. I have been working on buff columbian standards...have a pair now that will be my breeding stock if I can find something situable to cross them with! LOL
Here is the pair:
