If your neighbor is Ione, she actually bred the darkest adult mille rooster you got, along with the adult calico hen. Amy bought them as a pair from Ione last year and I bought them from Amy in December 09 or January '10 I think. The other two girls and two boys came from Tate's stock.

Last winter I built my brooder unit and talked about how between that and my brooder shed I would be set for breeding that year.

What a joke! I ended up having to build a smaller breeder coop......a broody hutch....and a rooster coop. Bought a rabbit hutch. Converted a dog crate into a duck coop. Still need more room.

I'm now in the process of building a 4x4 coop for a medium sized breeder coop......and have another 4x4 frame out back from a dismantled tractor that may turn into another medium breeder coop. I'm going to spend the cooler weather building up again and hopefully I will have things ready to start back up the breeding machines next spring.

Hate to dispute you but Danny didnt get that roo It was me He is looking better than ever and I have 3 chix from him 2 of them have the millie fleur down color and ! had the wheaton color I have trouble posting pix or even communicating as work dont give me enough time to do hardly anything But will get pix of him on here soon as I can Thanx again Nella

Ione lives real close to me but I have to run into her at the feed store if I want to see her! Yes,I know the 2 came from her..still trying for more.She has a few nice boys but I want a nice pullet too

We just started a 8x16 chicken house that will have 4 new prison cells with runs..concrete has set and hoped to have the skirt up this weekend but work calls and money talks
One of the boys went to live in VA-Camelot Farm so she will have a new nice roo for her stock.She got the smaller boy of the two twins. I need to upload some pics of my new babies..now if these darn hens would lay an egg my bators are waiting.

I have a question for y'all: What are you doing with your culls?

I hardly ever see mf cochins for sale on here. Do you sell them locally? And do you sell them as started birds?

Lynne is shipping me a quad on Monday if the weather cooperates and although I have a bunch of 3 month olds for my breeding projects, these will be the first birds I have for the project that are laying. I want to do the 'right' thing but I'm not sure what that is, lol!

I have some excellent quality mottled roos that I hatched from the thecochincoop's eggs but they're only 8 weeks old, so it will be awhile before I can start breeding them to the mf's for type.

I have been eating my cull roosters. They are suprisingly meaty for how small they are. The pullets that don't color out the way I want, I just sell as mixed color bantam cochins. Usually around $10 each, as by the time I give up on their color they are usually ready to lay and brood.

Hi guys, I know I haven't been on here in FORever! I have been so busy with work lately.. I have just been 'lurking' on most of my favorite sites.

Here is a picture of our little baby from Albert and Marie(from Lynne).. cute lil thing. Hatched under my white cochin girl, she was determined to brood so I gave her something to do. lol Hope the cooler weather finds everyone well. I can't believe it's fall time already!
