Hi Erin! and Welcome Back! Knew you were busy moving - sounds like it's going to be a great place! Hope everyone is adjusting well.
I haven't had good results with any of my hen/roo matches, so I'm about back to the beginning. I had read that in Germany they had bred in Red, which had gotten me to thinking about Red Mottleds. I only know of one or two good breeders that are seriously working on them - I may just have to contact them and find out how far along they are with type. It's a thought, anyway. And it would be an interesting gene pool to keep in the flock (as if I have room for a Gene Pool

I figured it was about time to to do something that should have been done a long time ago Finally got a pic of my partridgexmillie cross rooster The hen just did not want to co-operate so she wont be in the spotlite

All the roos from this cross looked alike I guess cause the roo from the original was from a male line But here he is

Down below there is a pic of his son He come from eggs that I sent out with my millie auctions this Spring Hoping there are more like him out there He is about 14-16 weeks old Hoping he shapes up like his dad He was standing up to get a look at the camera He normally stands like his dad To my surprise there were 3 wheaton colored chix out of that hatch One turned more red with very few spots and the other turned into ? Maybe next year I will repeat that breeding..maybe not In some respects I think he turned out better than his dad His type is better and his color definitly is Now if he dont fall apart when he gets older

Mike, 2 of the roos I have from your partridge cross are gorgeous in type and color... but they don't have any mottling yet. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that as the weeks go by some white will start showing up. They're certainly pretty though!

My six week old MFC, Ralph LaRoo, cock a doodle doo'd this morning!!!!!!!!

I was changing water in the coop and heard what sounded like someone being pinched, so I looked in the pen and he did it again!!! So pitiful!!

I'm a Virgin roo owner so maybe that's why it caught me so funny!

Too sweet! It will be fun to watch them grow and see if they are more inclined toward Calico or MF.

Are they about the same age? If so, looks like cockerel in the 1st pic, and pullet in the 2nd pic.
