I love the colors. Is this considered a rare breed? Still learning about chickens.

They are SO adorable, Nadine! I absolutely LOVE that first photo! What a little doll! Are these Buff/MF crosses? Very pretty.

I took my 'extra' cockeral out of the pen today and just have the one that I want to use with the two pullets that I have now for breeding. My newest pullet (Candy) has a very red comb and her breeder said that could mean that she's getting close to laying...

Here's a photo of Candy:

And this is the cockeral (from Josh Singleton) that I'm thinking of breeding her to:

Oh, my! I wish my girls were sitting on eggs NOW! I can't wait to have my very own MFC chicks...

I have never shipped before, but this is a good time of year to do it and I'm willing to give it a try as long as buyers send me a shipping box.

I've got two folks already buying trios, so they will get first pick. I'll try to get photos of the rest of the sale birds posted this afternoon.

Nancy -

I give you fair warning that I am gonna steal Candy one of these days!

Every time you post a pic of her I

all over my keyboard!

I can't wait to see what impossibly cute chicks those 2 produce.

Nancy,
the chicks are out of the trio I just bought who are out of buffs and MFs. I'm thinking I will have to cross mottled back in but I am not sure since I am just now starting on this project.
So much to learn!

You are correct. Mottling will give you the black chevron with a white tip.. what your birds are lacking at the moment. No worries though... Patty (onthespot) bred her mille to mottled and in just two generations is hatching some decent looking birds.

ChickenLittle is such a doll and doesn't want to tarnish my reputation but I know all of you are wondering about her chicks so I am breaking the ice. It appears that my columbian roo "hopped the fence" so to speak

and ruined poor chickenlittle's mf dreams

I am soooooo sorry. I have my columbians out front and my milles in the back and alternate free ranging but sometimes I let the columbians out in the evenings thinking they just hang close to the coop. I have never seen them together and I have hatched out milles from these but I certainly have to maintain better flock management after this

I apologize to chickenlittle and will honor a replacement and then some

Please forgive me.
