Mille Cochin Info

Sorry for the multiple posts.....I was posting from my phone last night and can only do one pic at a time!

Anyway, all my birds are from the same hatch (different parents, purchased eggs) and are just a tick over 3 months. I hatched 5, and definitely have 3 boys and hopefully 2 girls.......the one above I"m on the fence about since she has more developed comb and wattles than her sister, but no where near the development of her brothers. So I don't know! LOL!

I think the one roo above with all the red has the closest mille coloring, but still developing type (hard to tell at 3 months.) I do have one boy who is already shorter in the back, but his color is definitely more calico and has a lot of white. Is it true that they whiten up as they get older? I"m trying to decide which boy I want to keep. I was by myself taking pics last night so they aren't the best for type.

Love this girl 'toffee pop' what do people think type wise?

these are 3 cockerals ive been growing out. Leaning towards the brightest red at the moment due to type and colour but would like other opinions sincr this is only my 2nd generation!

I have a small backyard flock. This year I have four roosters, but can only keep two. I have never had such a dark rooster and he is my favorite, but the others might actually have better coloring. Since this flock is just for my pleasure what do you think?

This is probably my second choice.

Or is it this guy.

This is not a good picture of guy #4, I think he has the best coloring on his chest.

Please help me make a choice. I have a home for one of the extra, but if anyone lives nearby they can have the other extra. I live in the Sierra, south of Sacramento.

yup agree

This is my favorite hen from this years chicks. She doesn't look much like a Mille or Calico, but she's really pretty. Her chest feathers are peach colored.

Gosh, this gal is pretty and has a lot going on! Blue-based, double laced, columbian oh-la-la! Isn't it fun to see what comes out??
I agree with the others. Keep the dudes you really like.

I bought this hen as a calico but after skimming through this thread, I wonder if she could even qualify as a Mille. Every red feather is tipped with white and some, particularly her hackles, have the black eye as well.

I'm wondering what I would need to breed her to in order to get more mille fleuring in the next generation. I can't have Roos of my own right now so I would need to find somewhere they could shack up together.
