Mille Cochin Info

This little 7 week old boy is crowing!

I heard it yesterday first. I thought one of the chicks was getting beat up by a bunch of other chicks -it took me awhile to realize it was someone trying to CROW!

This morning I caught him at it. The cute little boy! I've never had one crow that early before..

Thanks guys. :) Amy, all of my roosters are trained. I even have Prince doing back-flips on command. Just kidding! :gig It's just picking them up and putting them back up there over and over again, and a little bit of luck. My original plans for Ivan was for just a calico pen, but he does have chevrons on his breast and he decent type. I have him in with 2 very different girls, Oboe - looks like black mottled, and Loula - more Mille Fleur; good base color and pattern just no breast flowers. I just set his first eggs this morning, so we'll see. These 2 girls are related to him, (all out of Inky, Ivan has a different father) after I hatch a few chicks from them and Bran's pen I'm going to switch them around. The girls in with Bran are completely unrelated to Ivan.
WOWWWWWWW!!!! They're all magnificent!!

Thanks guys.

You always do beautiful work, Nancy. I try to do that taking photos and mine start acting silly and look like Giraffes! Can't wait to see how your chicks grow up from all the breedings from Ivan. Most of the roos used are very dark. I can't find too much on how this works out.

Anyone in PA or anyone know of anyone in PA interested in a starter flock? 15 or so birds. One roo, two cockerels, rest are girls. One is a chocolate MFC pullet.

I decided to bail on the MFC project. I have decided this project has enough of a following and I'd much prefer to focus on the geese, mottled/black/chocolate bantam Cochins, my Ameraucanas and English Orps. We may be moving again as well. Even if we don't, my other projects need the space the MFCs are taking.

My biggest problem is blurry pictures, because I don't use a flash. I just take 500 photos in one shoot, so I have one or 2 decent ones.

What are you asking for them?
