Mille Cochin Info

LOL I don't have a silkie/cochin, but I do have a silkie/ee roo. LOL he's about 1/4 silkie and fun to have around... his chicks seem to be the most popular at the swaps lately. LOL

Weeble. (with a mille fleur cochin photo bomb LOL)
That is one cool looking bird! Coloring is really awesome.

They are well on their way to being decent Porcelains. A few more generations to get the pattern just right but I noticed that my Porcelains were easier than the original MF but I was working with a different breed. And they are girls.

The MF boy is looking nice. Pattern is close so find a nice typy MF hen and you will be set to go.

All my hens are blue or porcelain millefleur will they not breed true if I breed them to him? One is a teracotta base with blue chevrons. I will grt good pics! I have an opportunity to have some brilliant mf hens soon though just waiting for a new pen to be delivered. Thanks for your comments everyone. The ee x silkie is amazing so is the silkie mf cross. I have the perfect partner ill post a pic tomorrow they would have amazing babies.

PJ is a cutie, love the name too

Splash Silkie hen x MF Cochin roo:
I just cant stop looking at him hes amazing

Quote: porcelain involves the lavender gene (aka self blue) which is totally different from regular blue. so no, if you breed a porcelain to a blue, you'll get blues and blacks, not porcelain. unless you mean splash, not lavender/self blue.

don't know how many read the regular cochin thread or just this one, but thought i'd share this guy... i'm really pleased with how he's growing.

kepiru. a product of my own mille fleur breeding efforts. slightly odd angles, but he was not standing flat, but on a piece of wood leaning up.

I hear about people complaining they're not getting breast flowers on roos...

but kepiru has them, doesn't he?

I've sold/culled more roos very much like him that I wished would go to good breeder homes, that usually end up as someone's dinner more often than not. I just can't keep that many roos.

Right so I should get some normal millefleur hens to go with Dante. And get a porcelain boy to go with the others? I have a few more photos of him and also as promised the one of my little silkie x araucana 'Bea'.
