LOL!!! My girl just went through a broody phase and I couldn't give her any eggs eitherMy silly hen is going broody but she has no eggs under her. I actually feel bad for her but I can't give her any fertile eggs right now and I'm hoping she will break from it on her own. I'm not interested in forcing her out of it since that seems unnatural to me... I'm just griping...
A few weeks of eggs is all I got after she was done caring for her last chick. It was almost three months without eggs from her and after three weeks I had gotten back to enjoying having a good supply but she seems to have dried up and is sitting on any nest or nest-like spot that she has access to. I have her in a run all day that has no nest boxes but there are big cubbies without bedding that will be turned into nest boxes and she keeps hunkering down in. Not even the amorous rooster is winning over.My silly hen is going broody but she has no eggs under her. LOL!!! My girl just went through a broody phase and I couldn't give her any eggs eitherJust let her sit until she was over it, making sure she was eating, drinking, getting up ect to stay healthy. I have tried to discourage her in he past, but she would just go broody again a few weeks later! Now the only discouragement she gets is the daily comment from me "you know there are no eggs in your nest so you don't have to sit there!" LOL
