Mille Cochin Info

snapped a couple pics today while a guy was fixing the roof he didn't finish this week, and figured I'd show this girl to y'all and ask opinions. She has a lot of markings, really even all over. She is just getting out of moult, so I wouldn't be to picky about her funny looks right now, but she is colored like a Speckled Sussex instead of a mille fleur. Do any of you guys have some colored like this? (please ignore the two headed illusion. There is another hen behind, her, LOL)

i have milli cochins i also have a milli hen about a yr. old that you may like. she does not look the best right now, because she is free ranging with 1 more hen and 6 more pullets,+1 rooster about 1 yr old,+7 young cockerals about 5 mo. old. my camera is dead at this time. but you can her on my page under hilli fleur cochin page. she is on the third picture . my cochins is off taters birds before he quit breeding these birds. ralph phillips was the first to breed these to my knowledge. he sold on egg bid. i am not npip certified but i put 48 chickens in county fair, they did the blood test and all went well. i dont know if i can ship to virgina or not. i have shipping boxes. just let me know what you think thanks

Patty, I think she's looking super! Google images of mille fleur pekins. There are many like her... here's some links though you'll have to scroll down to see the MFC's.

There is a wide range of exceptable mille fleur. I'd like to know what true, correct mille fleur would look like on a cochin. I do not think it will be the exact same as it is on a d'uccle. Due to the difference in the breeds, I think there will be a slight difference in color as well as pattern.

And, Speaking of d'uccle ...google images of those. HUGE differences

I know everyone is so spread out on here but, I do have some nice cochins for sale that I would give away to someone interested in milles or calicos. IF they come by and pick up. Im in western MD near Hagerstown. If anyone is coming through this area during the holiday season, I could send you home with a very nice Christmas present.

This boy was given to me and I would like to pass him down the line. He has given me some nice babies

I also have a couple of mottled looking pullets with brassy hackles and this girl

and this one

as well as a few more.

I can do a trio for FREE to good home if someone can come and pick up... I don't feel like shipping. If you're interested in calicos, any of these will be fine... If you're wanting milles, I would grab one of these girls and then a black mottled girl with brassy hackles....

Ms Bear & Lynne---your hens do look beautiful. Ms Bear yours is reminiscent of Speckled Sussex all right, the mahogany is striking. The coloring on Lynnes also looks like some partridge genes adding to the mix with some of the black mossiness to feathers.
Earlier this week some large fowl Silver & Gold laced cochins hatched. THEN on Thanksgiving...5 Barnevelders hatched and 2 MFCs.... a striped and a blush yellow. I think the name "Stuffing" must be there somewhere! Here's the blush yellow

Here's some of the peeps: Left to right MFC, large fowl SL Cochin, Barnevelder, in back large fowl GL Cochin, and finally striped MFC
