Here is one of the nicer girls I hatched late last year. She actually has a lot more chevrons than is showing up in the picture.

I know how that is, Danny! After I take the photos I realize that no one can see all the chevrons they have going on in the feathers. Makes me so mad because they are really nice in person and I want that to show in my photos. Kind of like the color of my eggs, I can never get that photo of the exact color!


Hey everyone, I have a pair for sale in the BST section! I will be listing more pairs later as I continue to thin out my older birds. (As in older than 8 months) These are nice starter birds and gives newbies something to work with.

Thanks, Lynne but I think #3 still needs more type. She has a longer back and I am trying to get them all to look more like pullet #1. It can be such a struggle to breed for type and pattern!

As I am sure you know more than anyone because of the longer time spent on them. In just a little over a year I can see some of my progress but I still have such a long haul. They are pretty and fun but I have lots and lots of culls and that can be frustrating.
I was glad to show a few photos of what I have gotten done so far. You all probably think I am a nut most of the time!

If I could only take decent photos, I would show a lot more of the good, the bad and the ugly!

I'm finally going to post some pics of my flock. Some are from Lynn, some from bantyman. 2 hens don't have chevrons but have great type so I'm hoping they'll work well.

A couple weeks ago, I posted my new babies hatched from eggs from Nadine and she said she thought they both looked like boys...
Here they are a couple weeks later, and I am pretty sure I have one of each. I know it's still early, but I'm basing it on how they're feathering. They were hatched the same day.
Please excuse the poopy roost, still winter here
