Mille Cochin Info

I have been keeping up with my pics so far. I'll get some up a.s.a.p.
My 3 pullets are also laying like crazy, 20 chicks so far and 32 eggs in my neighbor's incubator. If they hatch like the last group, 9 of 9, I am in trouble! I also have 15 eggs (so far) from this weeks laying that I am not going to put in the incubator. Does anybody want them? Maybe folks would want to see pics of my birds first. I've got to get busy with the camera.

MSBear, here are pics of the same bird from chick to juvenile, I have no pics of her full grown, I sold her after the last pic. I named her "Charlie", as at first I thought she was a he. :

Hey Erin
frow.gif

What you say makes some sense as the wheaton and the partridge appear the same but are different I kept a roo from that breeding He is an F2 I put pics of him up awhile back but how far I dont know In the pic he was about 7 months old He is around a year now ,give or take a dab, and he is alot different He was hatched the wheaton based down even tho his parents were partridge split to MFC As he was growing he had the tri-color breast and looked like he was going to be the perfect marked bird As he got older he lost some of the black on his chest but he is a dark red Will try to get a good pic of him and get it up...maybe He dont like to co-operate much

Georgia
That hen is still beautiful How about some eggs from her so I can put her back to cousin ? The same F2 but different sires

I've asked that same question to a person who's hatched from me.... no fear, Mike... you'll get another.

As far as pics go, please email them to me so that we don't take up the whole thread. I can only use clear pics where the chick down is dry so we can actually see what's going on and I would prefer if we knew what the parents were... like if they were wheaten based or partridge based so, A pic of the parent birds full grown would be awesome!! And, please, no editing or photoshopping.. just a simple photo focussing on the birds would be great.

Fattie, thanks for all the pics, but Charlie could've matured a bit more and changed and I really need the full grown shot. Thanks so much though

Ok, Mike, here are some pics I took of my pair of chicks hatched from Nadine's roo Bantyman.
And yes, I'm pretty certain I have a pair... Emily shall stay Emily (And I just Loooove her!), and it seems Scooter is gonna stick for the little fella, it's what he does

What do you think about the hocks on the little roo?

I haven't been on here lately. Lots of nice birds!
Here are some photos of my small flock.
I have three that I hatched from Lynn's eggs last summer. The rest are from Ralph's flock, and I hatched some of their eggs last summer as well.
Here they are enjoying one of the warmer days this spring.

I must say I am super excited I found this thread! I have a white hen cochin and I have 2 male Mille's along with 2 hen Mille's..I have about 16 eggs (mix between the Mille's and Cochin) that are fertile in the incubator and some under my cochin hen, and I was wondering what the babies would look like if they crossed and I am super excited for the out come!!

I am a GRANPA !!! Again Looks like he done some good for your chix I like the MFC You can see him more than the mottled If that same color is in the mottled then there should be some good chix come out of it With the type and the color thrown in the mix Congrats on the pair Hope they turn out to be what you want
