Nice babys!
Cochins roos are the funniest little characters. Sophie sure does have nice foot feathers!

I'm going to let this boy go.He's one of Nancy's babies that hatched around Christmas time. It's too hot to ship anything in this direction though...99 this weekend
The color is a bit off in the picture..he's under a blue tarp and we can't find the sun so all those dark clouds. Nothing wrong with his eyes he was moving when I took the picture...got to get the girls.

They came out very nice! Such beautiful kids!
I think Bantyman gave me some good ones to work with and my chicks from those dark hens are growing up very typy so far. Still have color to work on but I am not worried at this point. Like with Scooter, you can see they will start coming around.
And with Lynne's birds you have lots of great color and pattern.
I can't wait to see what you get next!

Oh, he has such pretty color. He looks like the roo I gave away yesterday. I have way too many like that and when folks buy so many hens they get to pick out roos like that for projects.

I thought about some black mascara for his chest

He's the one I really wanted to like the most..they are my daughters project she loves all the color but likes the calico better.

I, personally, love the Calicos better but I get so many that pop out from different breedings that Calicos are not hard for me to get. I can move a lot of the brighter colors out while most folks don;t care for the dark ones. However, my darker girls are the ones I am finding better type on so I breed and breed those crosses a good bit.

I think your roo is very nice. I know you want him to have a better paint job but he has some really pretty color to him. I have one held back like that for my buff Mottled girls. That is for next year though. I am tired of raising chicks right now and am only hatching about 6-12 a week. I know for good results I need to breed more but it is too hot and I have too many projects so I will watch these new ones grow up and plan for a big hatching next spring. Fall will find me culling hard again.

that roo is really nice. if he was youger/around the same age as my pullets i would so take him. my girls are about 3ish months old. he's a tad too big for them.

We must think alike..I have plans for him if he stays for this fall or next year. He's for sale if anyone wants him or he stays here..just have him on the list since he's an "extra" around here.My fertility-ok theirs has dropped way off now we are in the high 90's with humidity to match so they are on vacation and I'm wanting a vacation...can't do that in the winter without freezing but can hatch chicks then! I sold all of my old roos to keep these younger boys which have much nicer color and type but now before I go crazy and hatch hundreds I want to see some grow up-may need to change some pens around. So, by fall I will have a better idea of what they are doing..then time to crank up the bators..and the heater in the chick house.

xyresicchick if you wait until fall there will be lots of real nice one's for sale. You will be able to pick and choose a lot more and may just find the right roo to compliment your girls.
