Mille Cochin Info

I never was any good at math. Chicken math is just beyond me.

(Apparently!! I bought an incubator and then went hog wild bidding on eggs! I think I have more coming then my incubator will actually hold!)

ROFL i did that too! so i bought 2 more hovabators and turners. one came in damaged, so they sent me another one free, and ups never picked up the dinged one. *gears turning* so i went to gqf, and bought a replacement picture window top and bottom, moved the guts over, and now have 4! hehe so now i can have rotating hatches among them all, and use the 4th as a hatcher specifically.

i just have to remember to mark the set date on my eggs.
hubby asks 'when are those ones due?' uh...

so i keep candling them waiting for drawdown then they go over to the hatcher.

I have almost 3 dozen eggs collected from my birds and I can't set any... My incubator is full! I do have 2 broodies, but they are first time brooders and I am a bit concerned about the one's temperament. All my others I can touch and check, her, she's attacking my hand as I open the egg hatch! They can't sit on nearly 3 dozen eggs anyways...

one of my first time broodies was like that for about a week. then she got used to me checking her and even picking her up off the eggs. i wouldn't worry about a bit of attitude, personally.

How about the shy boy in the back of these 2 pics?

NO idea why 2 of the pics ended up sideways....anyone know how to fix it??

Thanks!
I really like him!

The girl *should* shed her juvie molt with proper coloring.
She already has tiny black chevrons on her tail feathers.

Her mother is the same light buff, but with MF chevrons and tips, so I'm hoping she'll do the same thing!
BUT - I'm not certain b/c I added a new roo...so we shall see!
