Mille Cochin Info

How does this little girl look? Keeper?

Yes, I would keep her. Just from looking at the photo and not getting to go over her with my hands. I like her leg length, good back, chest and head set look good, shape of head looks good from what I can tell and it appears as if she will have a good tail set.

How about the shy boy in the back of these 2 pics?

NO idea why 2 of the pics ended up sideways....anyone know how to fix it??

Really nice looking boy from what I can see. I will be most interested to see more photos of him as he matures.
The girl looks very workable in your breeding program.
Remember, look at type, color and pattern will come.

Arrrg!! Took lots of pictures today and can not get them to load. SOOOO very frustrating.

Cadeau, pretty birds! ~ I fixed your pictures by turning my head sideways.

Amy, perhaps you could stop by and give my cochins a pat down.... Just kidding. Or not. Seriously, if I ever get pictures posted I hope someone will guide me on which roo I should keep on board as I have 4 and only 2 pullets. The one that's mostly black seems to have the best form (to my untrained eye) but is almost completely black, and he's kind of a meanie head too.

Thanks.

Ok, am loading old pictures. Roo 1:

Roo 2 (my kids' favorite)

Roo 3:

Roo 4:

I know these are not great pictures, and they are a week older now and of course have changed quite a bit. I would appreciate ANY guidance at all, eye color, comb advice, anything. Thank you.

Thanks, Amy!

I'm really liking those 2 and can't wait for the little guys to grow up!!
My cochins are hatching like popcorn lately and I have so much more to work with Mr. Red, as well as, some of my young girls are starting to lay!

Blanca x Mr. Red is giving me yellow, yellow chipmunk, brownish/reddish, and black.
All, but the black are feathering out with varying amounts of white!

Right now, Blanca is broody, so, when she's done, she's moving in with Bill Boy to see what they produce!!

OK, here is the progression of my first chipmunk striped mfc chick so far:

Today (4/24):

Today 6/3/12:

Here he is today (7/1)~ check out those breast flowers! Chipmunk chicks are the ones to keep!

I couldn't get him to pose, he was scared to death. :/

Great pics!
Earlier today, I was thinking I should do the same thing as I stood there and admired all the white and MF feathers coming on my 6 and 7wk olds!

Gives me hope for the 1, 2, and 3 week olds - and reminds me to hang onto them a bit longer!

I was SUPER excited when I picked up a partridge kid who looks almost barred and saw a PERFECT MF feather!!

Now....if I could only learn to see type in the younger chicks...
That's the reason I want to start the photo diary

Mike,
Erin is fine, saw her just a few days ago. She lives a few miles from us and gave my son a MF Roo. She's got some beautiful MF Hens.
