mink?

Sadly we got hit by a predator last night. I have been warned about mink here (southern Ontario). Two of them were missing heads, do mink do this? I had only heard that they slit the throats.

Usually mink and weasels and things in that family will just bite at the throat and drink the blood but if it's just the heads that are missing and the bodies a not disturbed that may be what you have.

Thirty years ago I had my first weasel attack. It killed seven bantam cochins and took four heads. When I found the weasel in it's hideout, I found the missing heads. It seems they like to take the heads back home with them. This weasel nest was under a small chicken house (like a dog house) and I found it sleeping there when I moved the house.
