Having learned quickly with a ferret, when they attach to a finger pulling and shaking doesn't work. Simply roll your hand up and back making them look up and then over their back. The lower jaw opens like magic. A quick light thump on the nose discurrages biting if done immediately after a bite. With ferrets the young were more likely to bite.

No, I never caught one. Still at it though. Recently saw some roadkilled short tailed weasel not to far from here. I’ll definitly let y’all know if I catch one

also talked to one of my friends who is a fur trapper (he has like 400km of trap line) and he only catches 2-3 mink a year on his trap line.
