Minnesota Breeders

One of the very best! Duane Urch has a number of different breeds, both large fowl and bantam. He's been breeding birds for (I think) 40 years or so. You can contact the Urches at dpurch AT netzero DOT net.

Don't be dismayed if they don't reply to your email right away, they are VERY busy all the time. Give it a week or so. They'll send you a price list, and I encourage you to get your order in early. I'm getting some large and bantam Buckeyes from them next spring.

Where in MN are you? We lived in Duluth for five years, still miss it!

Duane advertises in the Poultry Press every issue. He states he has 100 breeds available. He is a well known poultry judge and it is my understanding that he strives for show quality stock in all that he breeds.

He has a great reputation. I have spoken with him and if you catch him on a day when he is not real busy he can be very helpful. I beleive the best time to call him is in the evening. He states in his ads to call no later than 7 pm I believe it is. He is on Central time.
