For the record, Loretta does not have me fooled. She is sitting at my feet worshiping me. She is still worried she will not see October 11th. She thinks sucking up she will skip camp day, even though I told her she would be around a long time.

Now because it seems to be some sort of fashion faux pas to wear black socks with y shorts and sandals, I have put on white socks today. Hopefully that will leave the critics speechless and preserve my sense of peace without worrying about what I am wearing.


Minne Are you from NY? or did your brother and Mother move there? So no popples in NY?

I had a surprise this morning. I opened the garage to go to work and there on my motorcycle sits a chicken!! She must have wandered into the garage yesterday and then gotten penned up When we put DWs car in. Really caught me off guard.

I'm just happy there wasn't poop all down the side of it.
I'm sure she was a bit confused and scared when she couldn't get out. Poor gal. I filled the feeder so all the girls got off the roosts last night so I wasn't able to do head count. I'm just happy she was safe

For a brief period a few of my birds discovered that the shade canopy on my pontoon made a really comfy roost.

We had our pole shed door open one time for a while and Rosie our late RIR wandered in there. Night came and we couldn't find her any where around the yard or roosted up. Put on my thinking cap remembering we had that door open for a good part of the day. Here she was roosted on the back of an old couch. Comfy and cozy as could be. Funny how they find the good choice spots.

It's a beautiful summer morning isn't it?

I have a feeling a sneaky yellow furry fiend has this picture absent of my pastoral chickens. None are dead to date. But they all seem to disappear fast when she's in the yard.
