Pic of the girls this morning enjoying the light rain. Also, Red our rooster is looking mighty fancy. He definately thinks he is king of the world with 16 girls for himself lol.

I let everything free range. I do not worry too much about what I feed them this time of year because of my free ranging.

I do try to get some Game Bird feed to my turkeys and Guineas, but I hate giving it to the chickens. Of course they get some though.

I keep layer feed in the coop where the chickens go. I try to keep the turkeys out of there I am not always successful in this.

The way birds hang out together is so funny. like Minnie said Jr High cliches! I have two BA pullets, hatched together, wherever one is the other is.

The BA hen that adopted the guineas spends 800% of her day with the juvenile delinquents. Or they spend 80% of the day following her still. She has "kids" of all ages with her as I hatched guinea eggs as I had room in the incubator.

JJ and Sidekick are always together, if Ethel is not checking n her babies she is with them.

The 2 BBB (Blanchranch's and mine) hang out together, while the rest of the turkeys run as a group. I have one RIR that think my DW is her best friend so she follows her all day., if DW is not home them I am a suitable playmate. Bert and Bertha hang out together (bro and sis brood mates).

With the rest it is hard to tell, some times the turkeys and chickens are together some times not. I had a gang war this morning, Turkey youths versus guinea youths it went on for about 10 minutes before they separated. I think the BA mother hen stopped the fight.

I marked a couple of CX's to keep early on, I picked the ones that were furthest from the feeders/pen while free ranging. They are still the ones that free range the furthest from the brooder. Last night they were about 300 ft from the brooder behind a building chasing grasshoppers. I know those 2 hang out together,

I wish I had a clean usuable barn haha! The lady who owned this property before me keep EVERYTHING! I think it came from the waste not want not attitude. I havent got around to cleaning it out yet but I hope to get it done by next spring because I am planning on raising some other type of livestock. Maybe goats or a couple butcher hogs or maybe both lol. Thank you for the kind words!

You might find some usable treasures in there, but it will definitely be work. Our place is a bit like that too. Every shed was full of crap. They took most of it and now I'm stuck with pulling out the junk
