Welcome to the MN thread!
Down to business, new to chickens? old hat? How many birds? what kind? photos of coop(s) and birds?

We just went through that. Last weekend I filled up one roll off dumpster. Last year we hired a junk remover and filled one of their trucks.

And we're still not done. But it will be my place someday and my mother loves getting rid of junk.

I found the hubcaps from the car I learned to drive with, a 1966 Mercedes 200.
Wow, a rich kid!

I learned to drive in a 1949 international pick-up. But for you J. Deere fans, it was green.

My Grandpa taught me when I was about 7. It is some of my fondest memories of him. He was so patient, and quiet during that time. He told me stories of when he was a kid. It was so different growing up in the 1950's than it was in the 1890's.
One of our beautiful Orpingtons went missing tonight.
I hope that she is roosting it out in the brushy area next to the house but in the event that's not the case the flock is on lockdown. We've had too many coyotes in the area.

I hope you find her too. When I looked out the window this morning I had a white chubby running around the yard. It appears he missed the round-up last night. I know many of you think CXs are fat lazy birds. They really are not the way I raise them, This morning they all ran out to greet the fugitive and start their day of foraging. They spend the whole day foraging and when I check their crops at around 4pm they are all nearly full. (free food!!!!!)
The majority of them have 15 days to live. Which means I need some heavier duty booze for that day.
Ive got the day off from work and it is going to be a beauty! ive got some work to do, commence physical labor!

Grats on the day off. May you accomplish a lot.

I am going to have to really work on my whizbang today. I have been stymied on it. I need a solution soon or I will have to resort to the old plucker.

I released the Creamettes this morning. I tried about 5 days ago and had a witch of a time getting them to go back in. They are so darn fast, this old fat man has a hard time rounding them up. I think I have a creamette/EE cross. I had one EE get into the Creamette pen. Her eggs were olive so I could keep them separated. I am guessing my DW put one in the incubator when I was in Florida. It is an interesting looking bird. I was hoping it would be a hen, but that is doubtful now. It is a lot heavier bodied bird than a creamette, not that EE are big birds.

Everyone have a great day.

Welcome to the site and what really counts, WELCOME to the MN thread, the best thread on BYC.

How long have you had birds, what kind and like Cluckies said "PICTURES!!!"

I like looking at everyone's pictures, makes me feel like I actually know their birds.

Thank you!! I have had chickens off and on for about ten years but just moved back home after living in Iowa for several years. So I had to start over. This spring I got chicks. I have a couple red rangers, one buff Orpington, a couple barred rocks, a couple gold stars, and a couple americannas. I also got 10 Guineas and some ducks. I got a couple Muscovy, three silver appleyard, two saxony, two Rouen. I am brand new to ducks this year. So far it is great and loving it except all of my ducklings except the Muscovies are male.

So am looking for some female ducks and now with the difficult decision of what males to get rid of. That's hard and I have three kids which makes it even harder.

Well, you ruined his day by telling him you were close to him!:gig :lau

I just finished selling pff my females!! Do u have any roos?? I love roo pics.

Lol. Just my luck!! I bought a roo from someone over by lake park not to long ago. Now I think my two Easter eggers are Roos. Lol. I will try to get some pics posted later today. The roo I bought is a welsummer buff brahma cross. They are all still pretty young. I love chickens. All of mine free range during the day and are locked up at night. I had Guineas years ago and never had a problem. This time though I can tell you I am on my last leg. They are so mean to the chickens and even the ducks. And they never shut up. Lol.

My gold stars I got from a bin that was labeled pullets at tractor supply in dilworth. They are by far the friendliest birds I have had. My 5 year old carries them around nonstop. They have jumped up on our shoulders and will jump in your lap if you are sitting in a lawn chair.
