Minnesota!

Sold out of eggs at the farmers market in under an hour this morning. $4 a dozen and had quite a few people asking for our contact info so we can tell them when we will be back.

I guess we have an untapped market here. We were the only people selling eggs today
That is great!!! I wish it were that way at ours, but we have the opposite problem, too many egg vendors and not enough buyers.

Driving over to Owatonna today was absolutely beautiful! The fog in the low spots was like this gray, wispy river that flowed from valley and lull to the next. Wish I would remember to carry a camera with me.

It was nice to meet KlopKlop over there! It was the State rabbit show. I took 3 to show and sold one and bought 2. It cost me more than I sold, but I am not telling the DH ;)
I got a young Buckeye male from Duane Urch on the trip too to see if I can make the color better on my flock of them. Time will tell. It is always interesting going to the Urch farm and seeing his birds running about. His Black and Tan Coon Hound, Abby, escorted us. She was a puppy the first time we went over there and since she shares her name with my daughter, I have always rememberd her.

I hope everyone is getting some of their projects worked on for winter prep. It is time for me to get back out and do something productive with my day, after all the lolly gagging around with the fur balls.

I went out to work on the whizbang today. My wife gave me the keys she hid to the dryer I needed to get into. I got the front off, the control panel off and "researched and studied" my next steps.

I had Blake Shelton singing in the background, as I gazed out upon the pasture and tamarack swamp. It was pretty darn nice. Which got me to thinking I should fix the outlet on the outside of the house. It is a ground fault circuit that has given me fits with it tripping for no reason. I replaced the actually outlet with another one. Split the line so the one on the other side the house is not dependent on this outlet for its ground fault operation. I thought about just cutting the line to the front of the house, but I decided I needed to have it working for my bird bath this winter. The birds get so smelly if they do not bathe regularly.

So to make this already long story short, I fixed it the way it should be and not the way I wanted too. When I rewired the house I pulled an electrical permit, the only day that outlet ever worked right was the day the inspector was here. Now he can stop by anytime and it is working.

All that work as me all hot sweaty and tired. As luck would have it Coburns in Elk River had some Colorado Peaches yesterday. Not many, but enough for me to buy them out. I have decided, because my wife is working today, and one of us at least should enjoy this great fall weekend, to fire up the magic bullet and make a peach smoothie! I just happen to have some Mikes harder Lemonade on hand.

So I a taking my laptop, running the risk of spilling a smoothie on it, and spending the rest of the day visiting with my turkeys and chickens from the deck, while sipping my smoothies.....

I am fairly sure my DW will be glad I got to spend the time outside with the birds and a smoothie, or three.

I am not going to even get up and put the 3 stupid ones back together when they lose each other.

I used to live just outside Austin MN. My old neighbors had seriously over 100 chickens. They raised them all organic and ground most of their own feed. Anyway they used to sell for $4.50 per dozen and couldn't keep up!! I don't know if we have a market like that here... Although with store bought egg prices climbing you never know. So many people are scared to try them and there are a lot of farms in this area. I am on the edge of the red river valley.

Are you up by grand forks?

What's up with Wilma? Is she turning into a Wilbur?? Or is this common for RIR girls...
