you dont think the mama cat will get upset about it and move them? they definitely are too little for me to feed them

Do not move them, just go where they are and pet them there. She might move them in a few days, or might not. If she does find them. If they do not get human contact early they will be wild. I have done it both ways, the only one that works is lots of human contact.

What I was trying to say is I am just afraid that if I handle them, Mama will abandon them and I don't have the ability to give them the care/feeding they would need at this age. I'm not sure if that is a real thing or just something I have heard....

I would be quite sad if I caused the demise of helpless kitties. By plan is to leave them be for a few more day, then if they are still there this weekend I will start handling them where they are daily. Mama is getting regular feelings as well.

39 was ok but i wouldn't have wanted to do it for more than I had to. Yesterday was mostly just to say that I did

I used to know people that rode all winter. Said it wasn't any different than driving only you used cycle skills. They had all the clothes and REALLY enjoyed theirselves. It was more of a back and forth to work thing for them. They did not spend a day out riding during the winter. Getting on that motorcycle was the closest thing to flying that I ever experienced. Ahhhh the memories.

I never had barn cats abandon their kittens just because we played with them. She might stop mothering them early (4-6 weeks) but then they can get by without her. I have heard that same thing. Our grandparents use to say that. but I think that was because they did not want more cats hanging around. It never worked, we played with them and they stayed.

The time period to start playing with them is short, if there eyes are wide open you could be too late.

For the record I hate this keyboard, it forces me to reread my posts and edit them 4-5 times!
