Minnesota!

I was outside working for nearly 90 minutes!

Way too much for us old guys. I came in to make Brunch and have some more coffee. I looked out the window and saw this:

This is a meth boy tring to commit suicide. Had my wife been home he could be headless. Thursday is her day off, so he is lucky she went to town.

He was enjoying eating acorns off the deck.

Here is proof I made him get off the deck:

And here he is showing me how hard climbing down a stairs is:

What good is proof when you can't show your wife this thread anyway? Thinking it through as i'm typing...you probably have it on the computer or camera other than just on here. Figured I might as well keep the post on anyway so we keep our thread in the top ten.

Even though I offer marriage consoling services, things are not perfect here today. My DW is freaking out. She wants everything to look perfect for camp day. She is not reassured when I tell her forget it, don't worry about it.

We live in an old house that I am remodeling. When living in a house you are working on nothing is ever perfect. I am doing everything myself as I can afford it and as I get time. It drives her nuts. the "other" grandparents will be here tomorrow. they live in a fancy suburban house on a postage stamp sized lot where the association hires a landscaper for lawn care. She thinks our house should would look like that. It is not going to happen.

I have trim that I am not ready to put up yet. I have tons of work to do, I doubt I will ever get it done. She thinks my sheds should be organized and cleaner. They maybe should be, but they never will. I of course think she should be happy with the new little deck I added last month. It is a big step up from the temporary steps.

Besides, I am a luvable slob!.... That is what she always says, sort of. I added the word "luvable" not her word, however, I know she meant to say it.

Living in a semi-permanent construction zone does start to rub on some people. When i was remodeling the bathroom at our old house DW was pestering me when it was going to get done. I replied "I am making progress on it, you don't have to keep reminding me every six months!"

ok so maybe i just stole the joke from somewhere but its still true-ish.... at some point you just get comfortable walking around the piles of construction rubble and what not. My workshop is a total disaster right now and for some reason every person who visits feels the need to go in there for some reason or another and that bothers me... a man should be able to have a mesy space sometimes and not get pestered!

all of our ramblings and mussings scored us the #2 spot for yesterday and moved us up to #6 for the week! huzzah!!

i do feel a little bad for the people who have been away for a day or two, to come back to that. hard to sort the chaff from the good posts ;)

Something got into Heidis pens a awhile ago and killed some of her Cochins so she is going to keep them so she has enough eggs to keep up with orders. Which is totally fine. She is going to see if some people she know will be selling adult show stock

Mormon' everyone. Leaving on a last of the year camping trip this afternoon. Trying to decide when to butcher a few roosters as well.

Dwayne the Delaware has worn his welcome out...

I know what you mean by this! It is completely unreasonable to expect things done right away!

We have no chaff here!

Corn has been harvested for 12 hours and now there are husks EVERYWHERE!!!! I can't believe how covered my entire farm ks

But yesterday you LIKED the combine! LOL!!! Just wait in a couple of days when the wind really picks up. That is what drives me nuts because then it is stuck all over on my fence and blowing all over our yard too. Lucky us, they planted beans around us this year, so we just get the beetles they kicked out this time

I doubt the beans have anything, well much to do with the **** beetles. They showed up here 2 days ago. However, I have to praise the guineas for keeping their numbers manageable. A few years ago, before we moved here, we had this house sided. We put white siding on it, because it has always been white.

After moving up here I find those **** beetles are attracted to white! It is tempting to reside in a green or blue!

I hate those things. I have been vacuuming them off the ceilings the last few days, but not by the thousands like before I got the guineas.

Still no box elder bugs though!

hey you hunters and others who like wildlife too, DNR is trying to write some new rules about hunting, leadshot, small game, ducks/geese/crows, etc. This would make permanent the temp rules in effect. You can read them and comment about what you like or don't like. Get the rules drafts here: http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/input/rules/rulemaking.html:

You have some time to comment. An administrative law judge reviews the comments, and they become part of a permanent record. Its your chance to have some input into the rules that will make a difference for hunters and others.
