Like BC I would like to shop in the other cute little places but I cannot afford it. I need to be practical.

As a poor retired person, every penny counts.

My one luxury in life is coffee and Mikes Lemonade....

Having owned a business I never disclosed my political views either, no business can afford to give 50% of the population an excuse to go elsewhere. After all as a nation we are close to 50/50, even if Minnesota is 99/1...

Ralphie I will not get into politics other than to say I don't believe that the major political parties have 50/50. There are a high percentage of independents who actually put on a thinking cap prior to election day. Even in Mn. The unions are extremely entrenched in Mn., and they have their members thinking there is only one party to vote for.
I am not against unions as collective bargaining organizations, but many step into other areas.

Fleet Farm, Tractor Supply, my favorite places.
They have jeans my daughter doesn't wear through in two weeks, chicken feed, and a great gummi bear candy selection.


As far as politics at work - all I can say is Hatch Act. It rules my life.

If you look in the center console of my truck you will always find a bag of fleet farm gummy worms it's hard to leave without them!

I am still mad at the local fleet farm... The reorganized everything and nobody, not even the staff, know where things went. And don't even get me started on my opinion of toyland taking over half the store......

Gummie Worms are my Bain. I covet Gummie worms. I get fat from Gummie worms. Why can't they make a 0 calorie, no corn syrup gummie worm?! LOL.

Great now I'm going to have to make a pit stop at the gas station for a bag of them. DAng it.

Seriously I buy the big jumbo Mumbo bags for Camping trips. They are the first food that disappears on the trip. Hmmmm....

I don't know about zero calories, but a while back a company released sugar free gummy bears. People liked them but quickly found that eating more than the recommended serving had a severe laxative effect!! Despite that I'm fairly certain you can still buy them

Hello folks I'm flying by for a check in tonight.

I have a really stupid chicken newbie question.

Do chicken's grieve the loss of a mate or a pal?

Sadly I had to let Ralphie know that I lost Ole' almost 2 weeks ago.

He presented with symptoms of a cold - treated with antibiotics and within 24 hours he was back to his bad butt self. Went out to release them within a day or two from coop and he appeared to have passed while on the roost. Head still tucked. Broke my dang heart.

I still miss hearing him wake up the farm!!

Ever since then Lena has moped around but she seems to have finally taken up with the young chickens - she no longer pecks on their heads. BUT she refuses to allow them to roost with her in what was her and Ole's cage. She prefers to roost with them in their cage. She is always the first one up at night and the last one out of the coop in morning. (Before winter truly sets in they will all be moving to new digs in the new chicken house and covered run.)

Anyway - Lena hasn't laid an egg now in at least a month - so the no egg laying started before Ole's passing.

Is this normal with this up and down weather we're having?

ohhh no, not ole. I believe chickens can greive, just like anything else, especially if they were attached to the other chicken and used to having them around.

We don't do allowances: What's his is mine, and what's mine is mine.
