Minnesota!

I have a question on grape vines. My new run will be up beside a shed that has grape vines beside it. Should I just keep pruning the vines back or reinforce the run on that corner and let it go? I think it would be nice to leave it go as to give them more shade in the summer but I'm afraid the vines would get too heavy and wreck my run. How much reinforcing would I have to do and how should I do it? Any info will be appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I have a Silkie who isn't fully grown, and we are begginning to think it is male. We only wanted females as we live in a suburban area and only wanted eggers. We are looking to sell it for $10, from Twin Cities area.

I think I know where you got it from

I hope the others were all what you wanted.

I had a bantam faverolles hen go missing a few weeks ago. I assumed it was the fox I had been seeing in the yard. Well, last night I found her under a tub I use for a dust bath in the coop during the winter. It had flipped over on top of her. She must have just layed under there and starved or died of thirst. Poor little girl, I never even thought to look for her since I had seen the fox in the yard that day. It's never ending with these chickens. I've felt bad about it all day.
I had a hen fly up to the rainbarrel, and the mesh cover apparently wasn't enough to support her weight, she fell in and drowned. I keep a bicycle wheel on top of the barrel now. It is a terrible feeling when something like that happens. you do your best, but accidents happen.

I've heard of people having chicks flip feeding bowls over and kill themselves too. Almost have to "toddlerproof" the coop and runs, but some things we don't even think of as a danger.
