Minnesota!

It is almost time to shut down the incubators. If anyone is looking for any of the breeds listed in my sig line, let me know and I can see what I have or have coming in the next 3 hatches.

Hey everyone! It's hard to post much from my phone but I wanted to say hello and join the thread. :)

I live between Buffalo and Montrose. 2 years ago I went on the chicken coop parade in St Paul and Mpls. At the time we were living on 1/3 acre in the city of Buffalo, where they won't let you have chickens, but both STP and Mpls do allow up to 6 on your postage stamp sized yards. Go figure.

Anyway, 1 year ago we moved out of Buffalo into the country and we now have land, a barn, 21 adult hens and many baby chicks. I'm so happy and love having these chickens!

We have White Leghorns, California Whites, Black Australorps, Buff Orpingtons EE's, Welsummer, Buckeye (who died this winter), Blue Splash Marans and....I feel like I'm forgetting a breed! LOL

We had 2 roosters that became dinner because they were just mean. Right before we did that though, we did hatch some farm yard mixed chicks that are about 5 weeks old now. We have about 20 of them.

We also have some Welsmer mixed if if y they I

Darn phone! Sorry about that.

We have some Welsummer and some EE's hatching tonight and tomorrow! Very exciting! 2 pips so far.

And even better I have about 10 French Black Copper Marans, 1 olive egger, an EE and a Blue "amerilusion" due Sunday. That's about it for now. More later! .

You meant Andalusian, right? Cute way of saying it.
If you need more Buckeyes (my Favorite breed) I have plenty! ;)
Just call me, the Chicken Enabler.

Haha! I love it. As if I need more enabling! LOL The woman I bought the eggs from called it an "Amerilusion" because it's apparently a cross between a Blue Andalusion and an Amercauna (sp?)

I'm very interested to see what it looks like!

We have hatchlings today! So far one of my EE/Blue Splash Marans mix and 6 Welsummers have pipped! Exciting day!

Let's hope it isn't as flighty and crazy as all the Med breeds seem to be.
That is a cute man for an Easter Egger though. A rooster of those two breeds would look really cool if it had the Blue, then the beard and muffs, then it also had the tail of the Andalusian! You will have to show us pics.

This weather is like October! We're doing more work on the new coop but it's chilly and windy.

Last night I put the 5 weekers into their temporary home, which is a 4x4 dog kennel. Because of the cold I even set up a heat lamp for the next few nights.

And we're getting lots of new babies this weekend, still many are just pipped though. I'll have to go take a picture and come back later to post it. :)

I know! This weather is depressing. At least I've got peepers popping out to keep my mind off the cold! 13 out of 15 are out so far. And it's my first time hatching!
