Minnesota!

geesh, with holidays coming up you would think people would have nothing to do, right?

I took today off and as usual have more planned than will actually happen:

let Goldie out for play time
refill bird feeders
clean clean clean
cook bake cook
hang lights, decorate,
wrap wrap wrap

eggnog and brandy!

mealworms came in a nice cloth bag with rumpled newspaper.  fat and happy.  now residing in a covered roaster with a little bran and lots of ground oatmeal.
I do not want beetles!!

My stupid question of the day.

You bought live mealworms from Amazon?

A new house?
Yep! i havent talked about it in a long long time but DW and I are planning to build a new house next year. Currently we are leaning towards a modular home (note- that is not the same as a double wide/trailer house) but we have plans to meet with a home builder too just to see our options.

We like the modular home idea because they are well built and the project could more or less be completed in 6 weeks as opposed to 6 months

A double wide would certainly up your redneck status ...

And your old house could become a chicken coop!

Our basement is a total mess and i needed to clean the kitten's litter box. I knew he would want to go down and look at the foundation, so i wanted to be at least presentable.

Well... Sad news... My Great grandpa passed away yesterday afternoon. He was peaceful and surrounded by family so there was no suffering which I am glad about.

On the upside guess who gets to go meet Minnie and bring home some very spiffy standard Cochin pullets... ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!! I have always wanted to meet her!! Hope all goes as partially planned.

You flatter me, kid.
Well, if you don't make it as a farmer, you definitely have some talent for a photographer! You have such a great eye for it. Those are some very nice shots of your critters.

So, those girls are all ready when you are. I will give them a looking over and make sure they are ready. The pullets in that pen have been giving me a few eggs, so you might luck out and get one that is already earning her keep ;)

Klop, I am so jealous. We have talked about tearing this place down or removing it for years, but I think we have come to the conclusion that we better just start working on it piece by piece and make it work for us. We built a two-story garage a few years ago with a studio apartment in the upstairs. If we do anything besides fix this old thing up, we will add on to that and make that our house. We never seem to get all the leg-work figured out to get either one done though. Life is just too busy, it seems.

I had a pleasant surprise last night when I returned from running around to appointments and picking up kids. My DH left Monday morning, and I thought I wouldn't see him again until Christmas Eve, but he finished a little early at the first job and got to come home. Then yesterday, he finished up early again, so he got to come home again last night! Now, he is gone until Christmas Eve in Eau Claire and then Madison. I don't like this merry-go-round ride.
