Last night my ex's flight from London to Philadelphia was on time but immigration took so long that he missed his flight into MSP. DD and I spent the night in town and are enjoying breakfast at the Day by Day cafe.
Am loving the cooler weather!

I go there before group rides sometimes. Old 7 to Shepards Road is a great way out of town. Great place to eat. I really like the back patio.

Well... Sad news... My Great grandpa passed away yesterday afternoon. He was peaceful and surrounded by family so there was no suffering which I am glad about.

On the upside guess who gets to go meet Minnie and bring home some very spiffy standard Cochin pullets... ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so excited!!!!! I have always wanted to meet her!! Hope all goes as partially planned.

Loss is alwaya hard. Sorry to hear about this.

geesh, with holidays coming up you would think people would have nothing to do, right?

I took today off and as usual have more planned than will actually happen:

let Goldie out for play time
refill bird feeders
clean clean clean
cook bake cook
hang lights, decorate, 
wrap wrap wrap

eggnog and brandy!



mealworms came in a nice cloth bag with rumpled newspaper.  fat and happy.  now residing in a covered roaster with a little bran and lots of ground oatmeal.  
I do not want beetles!!

Sounds like you are getting it all done. Not I. I haven't bought a thing and now i am just getting out of the hospital for a small bowel obstruction. All is good now.

No surgery was needed.
So Goldie must be doing well?

I've got the day off as well but excited as I am having a masonry contractor over any time now to get my first foundation estimate for the new house! It is getting real!

Beetles are ugly but they can't fly or get out and you need them to complete the cycle and get more worms

You have them in a roaster? is the top open for air/ventilation?

I could have SOOOOO much fun with you on this post, but I know someone would be offended, so I shall keep my insidious humor to myself. I will say, there is much to be said for a diet high in fiber!

Hmmm, shouldn't be dying off, maybe a few, but not alot. is it warm in your house? they like it warm. I give mine slices of apple every 2 or 3 days for moisture.

With my secret nests cleared up I picked 30 eggs today! I was down to 20ish before
