Minnesota!

I think the small kid hair binders would work perfect. I trimmed around the chops a bit and some of the crest around the eyes

I think that's something I'll just have to keep doing.

I know nothing about silkies and was brooding this one for a friend with my chicks. She didn't want one so fluffy, so she asked if I'd keep it. It was about the dumbest thing I've ever heard because has she not seen silkies before? Lol, I even know that! Anyways, I'm curious if the beak is normal? Do they tend to curve over almost hook like?

Her beak just needs to be trimmed. Use a dog nail trimmer or even human nail clipper to trim that extra off. I have to go through all my silkies every few months and do their beaks and toenails. They don't seem to forage around near as much as other breeds and wear them down. At least the fluffy ones anyways....

Yes! The lovely long and curly toenails! It is easier keeping Silkies in a wire hutch, their feet stay much cleaner!

@KlopKlop I am not your average woman ;) I had to get down on my belly while keeping the two cats from climbing on me to get the stupid thing. I don't like killing anything, but I do what I gotta do. If I had to wait for my husband to things like that, I wouldn't even have chickens because critters would have already taken them out.
I was the farmer before we moved here, having grown up on a dairy farm. DH grew up in town in Ames, IA. He likes driving tractors, but he does what he needs to outside of cleaning poop. I don't ask him to do anything if I can do it myself since the birds a basically mine.

Oh yes, I know you are an enterprising lady who won't wait for anyone to get her work done for her :) that was more a testament to my wife being a goof haha

So I'm talking with coworker about chickens, Right? Isn't that what all people do at work?
She asked me which breeds I have and as I told her " 2 Bresse" a male coworker walked in the room, gave me a smirk and said "I'm really happy for you, Caroline"!
The other man in the room looked up and said "I'm just keeping my head down" - he was very very red in his face...

That is a new word used to describe me, it is usually something 'stubborn, bull-headed b****, just like your father!"
I like enterprising.
I have a confession, most of the things I do on my own are because I have little to no patience to see other people doing it the wrong way. LOL!!

Did they think you were talking about getting circumsized?
