Minnesota!

Here is the info for the Hutch swap:
* February 20 - MN Game Breeders Swap, McLeod Co. Fairgrounds 840 Century Avenue Southwest Hutchinson, MN 55350. 7am, $5 admission, contact Doug Randall (320) 236-2270 or (320) 333-7111

Lots of game birds, ornamental pheasants and ducks, peafowl, swans. Lots of rabbits, guinea pigs, and small pocket pets too. Usually a few people there with small house birds. Tons of poultry, just depends on who shows up.
I feel like if i went to one of those I would come home with birds regardless of if i wanted some or not :)

Does anyone here know someone who sells Giant Dewlap Toulouse?? I am going to have to start saving for another breed I want... Or sell my geese and ducks.... But my ducks are to cute to sell.... They are to cute to get rid of...

Hello!! Hubby and I just decided to try our hand at raising meat birds this spring. We are thinking some red Rangers and Ohio Buckeyes(we love thigh meat). Do most people order all males, all females, or unsexed?

Welcome! We prefer straight run but some people get certain genders.

We have been breeding rabbits for over 10 years, and yes, they are adorable. At 3-weeks they are the cutest critters on Earth! We have Mini Rex, Holland Lops and Californians. I purposely will not sell rabbits at Easter time though because too many people get them thinking they are some cute toy instead of being prepared to take care of a live animal. I am not impressed with those people who breed them just to sell a bunch and make money at Easter and not care what happens with them when they leave. I do try to sell my extras. We use the Cals for meat, one 14-week old rabbit weighs 3-3.5 pounds dressed and are a very lean option for protein. My family really enjoys rabbit once in a while.

Have u set any eggs yet Minnie?? Hopefully u have chicks a bunnies at the same time for a photo shoot

shoot.
I thought I saw skunk tracks this morning in the snow, and came home tonight to a polecat under the truck. danged thing isn't scared of light, me, car, etc. its tracks went all the way around the entire run.

might have to turn the electric fence on, after shoveling snow and cleaning overgrowth from it.

and for some reason circuit has popped on the extension cord plugged into the meter - it runs the electric for the water bowls. I've examined the first 75 feet of it and found no breaks in the wire coating., just have about 25 that is buried an inch or two into the dirt and under some packed ice....guess what I'm doing tomorrow?
