farmerDan, I am near you in suburban Duluth. This seems to be a relatively quiet poultry community. I know there are many people in the area with birds, but they primarily keep to themselves.
It would be nice if there was an active poultry keepers club but there seems to be little interest in that.

I'm actually up I'm the pike lake area, but I agree there should be a club or something where people can get some good info from one another. I'm assuming there are a lot of people around Duluth that have chickens as L and M in cloquet sells all their birds almost instantly. I had to order mine because of it.

Dan, I think you are right about a lot of people in the area having birds. I just bought some Marans chicks from a lady near Pike Lake. Although I have primarily Chanteclers, I like a variety of breeds in my laying flock. The fairs in the area used to have much larger numbers of entries in the poultry barns than in recent years, and I think many would exhibit but for the fact that it seems an intimidating undertaking if you have never done it before. That is one area that could benefit from an active club as well as the opportunity to learn from others experience and expertise.
