Minnesota!

I just candled my first ever batch of incubating eggs. My 3yo daughter tagged along with her doctor kit and enjoyed seeing the veins and the spot where the chicks develop. She checked all 30 for peeping. No peeping yet (it's only Day Seven, LOL).

Between the excitement of the growing chicks and her complete history & physical of each egg, I'm on cuteness overload!

I know things can still go wrong, but I'm very happy that they are going well for now.

I like to make sure my chickens see me putting a bird on the grill with a beer can stuffed in it from time to time. seems to keep them friendly.

Does anyone have any turkey hens for sale???

I am just about done collecting eggs and going to let my turkeys free range again and fend for themselves. I would let one of my lavenders/self blues go in a week or so.. IF I get permission from the war department. I will ask her when she gets home from work if you want.

(For a person that claims to not like my birds, she sure gets a attitude, when I get rid of the wrong one...
