Minnesota!

Can anyone tell what these birds are? they I have had them for a few weeks now and they are scared to death of me.
CRAZY birds. They sound like white Eggers, maybe Pheonix? I am not as well versed with those as other breeds. Maybe someone will pipe in and help. Where did you get them? The dark one may be a a BLRW or a Gold laced something. Can see enough detail to say anything with certainty. ADDED: I took another look at Silver Pheonix and that is the answer I am sticking to on the top crazies, and it sounds like their personality. Don't feel bad though, almost all white Eggers have the crazies.

Ya its hard to even take their picture unless they are roosted up for the night because every time I walk their way, they haul buns into the woods. I think I'm ok with it though, I have 14 other young hens that just about tackle me for treats when they see me.

Get some Buckeyes and you won't be able to walk out across the yard to feed them! LOL!

Erlibird this maybe picking bones here but, if you are in Pine River area or Cass County, I'm not sure if they are that specific for just a few birds or small amount of AU's -- agricultural units. Here is a PDF on feedlots which addresses the lakeshore setbacks for prescribed number of Ag units. 1 chicken counts as .01 AU's. IDK. I'm not sure all your chickens add up to be a" manure run off burden" to the lake. http://www.co.cass.mn.us/esd/pdfs/ordinance/FEEDLOT.pdf I understand not wanting to get into the gory details and get in a pee match with this part-timer at the lake but I think you have something to stand on here....
I found a good home for the rooster! And more good news- the county is in the process of amending the ordinance to allow chickens on ALL properties!!!!

So Erlibird, is this Cass or Crow Wing that you are in? I think they need to define their ordinances or variances better here in Cass County. It's a little vague on small time chicken set ups. Poultry keeping is so popular now and I mean...really that bird and I'm sure your flock is doing no harm to it's environment. You were a nice neighbor though, and I understand doing what you did, although I think sometimes we're all just a bit too "Minnesota nice."

Sad to see that beautiful rooster go I'm sure. I showed my kids your Roo and they wanted to ditch their precious New Hampshire, Roger, for your guy. LOL.

Hello Guys, I hope all is well with everyone. I still have 2 Roosters to get rid of. They are BA's, 1 is out of my show stock and is a big boy. The other one is also a big boy but more like hatchery stock. We had a small barn fire and he lost the tips on his comb. I am gonna down size do to the fact that I am tired of loosing birds to raccoons and skunks. I have caught many of each after loosing 22 ducks and 21 chicks. If anyone is interested let me know. I also have 3 runner drakes and one duck, then 2 rouen drakes to get rid of too. I hope everyone had a good 4th.

Hi Bogtown Chick,
It's Crow Wing. The meeting on this is in the fall I think but haven't looked up the date yet. It would be a good idea to have all the chicken people in the area at that meeting.
That woman stressed me out I thought she was going to have the nazi's at my coop! I was way too nice but now I don't have to be

Roger is beautiful too! That was the first rooster I ever had and never knew they had so much personality! he's a good guy and I'm pretty sure he's at a good home.
Thanks for your kind words and support
