Hi Bogtown Chick,
It's Crow Wing. The meeting on this is in the fall I think but haven't looked up the date yet. It would be a good idea to have all the chicken people in the area at that meeting.
That woman stressed me out I thought she was going to have the nazi's at my coop! I was way too nice but now I don't have to be

Roger is beautiful too! That was the first rooster I ever had and never knew they had so much personality! he's a good guy and I'm pretty sure he's at a good home.

Those Roosters really do add personality don't they? Mine free range so in addition to his personality I get him as a sentry for my girls. He makes me so proud protecting the girls. He does a pretty good job too, I have to say. No losses. *knock on wood* Thank you for your compliments on him...not sure we could give up our Roger.

You know some folks can be so selfish and single minded about their "comforts" that they really don't think outside the box and forget common courtesies like being neighborly. I'm sorry she was so tyrannical to you. I've been blessed with good neighbors I guess. They all say they enjoy hearing Roger in the morning, or afternoon, or whenever. LOL. Thank goodness.

One day you'll have a beautiful Roo again I'm sure to grace your flock.

I found a good home for the rooster! And more good news- the county is in the process of amending the ordinance to allow chickens on ALL properties!!!!

Erlibird, what breed is/was your rooster?? Thinking about getting one. My black copper maran roo disappeared yesterday morning. Hoping a hawk took him and not the timber wolf my neighbor saw a few months ago. Would they slowly pick off a flock one chicken at a time?? I only have 3 hens left.

Alezaj, too bad you are so far from Minneapolis. I need to find a good home for my 7 week old Silver Laced Wyandotte who seems to be a rooster. This is my first experience with chickens, but I've got a more dominant hen so he seems really sweet. But sadly, once he starts to crow he's illegal in my city.

Silver Spangled Hamburg. Lots of roosters need homes.
