Minnesota!

What has actually worked really well for me to keep predators away is a cheap radio, every night when I close the coop I turn on this cheap clock radio to an am talk station and then there are human voices by them all night.

I thought about playing classical for them all night, as I had read the radio trick myself before. That way I can have more cultured poultry ;) LOL

Does anybody know of an actual STORE that carries chicken nipple waterers ? I can only find them online as a 50 pack or a 10 pack shipping from China, which takes a month. And I'd rather keep it local. My Tractor supply people seem to just giggle and look for a hidden camera. Maybe I'll get the 50 pack and come back here to see if I could sell them myself. Thanks in advance for any info.

I got mine on eBay a couple of times. I bought them in sets of 5 or 10. I have only used 6 of them and I am debating if they are going to work as I had intended. I found that 1.) the size of drill bit they say to use do not work right; 2.) some of them will leak, I am wondering if there was something in the PVC pipe that got stuck and made it leak?. 3.) Because if the leaking, you don't want to keep them inside/indoors unless you have a way to catch the leaking water. The birds catch on fast though. I am going to try using RTV sealant around them AND use o-rings when inserting to try to prevent any leakage around the actual nipple unit itself that I have now.

Good luck. I don't have the info on where I bought them.

You can get Teflon tape just about anywhere. Wrap the threads before you insert the nipple waterer into what ever you are installing into. Should be able to repair the leaking one with the tape too.
