Minnesota!

I know of who you speak

Do you have a picture of the pullet? And I should have some ccl eggs/chicks in the spring or summer to sell!

hmmm maybe the earlobes say she is icelandic, because wouldn't a legbar have different colored lobes?

She does look like an Icelandic, I have a couple growing up that look like her! Though since you can't say for 100% sure, you shouldn't use her as a breeder.

Cream, legbars have a cream-white earlobes

yeah, and her lobes are more cream yellow. she is also small, I think the legbars are a little larger. But her coloring, which you can't really see well in these pics, is classic legbar. oh well!

I 'bought' Super Blue Egg Layers (they seemed all correct) 3 Orpingtons (Blue)- one was the others were 2 BR's and one I have no idea-it was barred.
I also bought eggs 12 Icelandics and 12 wheaton Am. Out of all of those eggs, most were infertile. Only one Icelandic survived out of the three that hatched and 1 W Am hatched and it died as well. All 3 that died, died within 24 hours of each other- they were fine and then dead.
The Super Blues only 1 was a pullet and she lays lots of nice blue eggs.

Now
I bought pullets from Minniechickmama and she was GREAT. All were as she said they were and have all been very heathy!

I won't be going to New Brighton again.

Oh no, you too!? I knew there were several people out there that must have had the same experience as me! To think of all the birds that are out there now, mislabeled, misrepresented and many probably culled because of unknown breed is awful! I also had some that appeared to be fine one minute up and die on me from her as well.
Minniechickmama was awesome to work with for me too!
Coldupnorth has a beautiful Icelandic flock and was great to work with as well! I was lucky enough to get some eggs and chicks from her!

Thank you, Timber! I am glad you are happy with what you got. Yes, honesty in how you conduct your breeding and selling is a must. Anyone worth spit would give you refunds on mess ups like I am reading you all got. There is no excuse, it is ignorance or dishonesty and neither has a place in selling purebred stock of any kind.

Wow, 27 degrees! Heat wave! I had to show the girls some tough love. Even though the pop door is open all the time they haven't been going out to the run at all, today I sent them out & closed the door so they were locked out. I seem to remember my mother doing that when we were kids :)

Ugh!!! I just lost my Crested Cream Legbars rooster. No matter what I did he just kept going down hill. At least I still have his girl plus 2 pullets and 2 crockerls. Also 10 eggs in the imcubator. I hope they are all viable.

here's a pic of my unknown breed rooster (courtesy of the newbrighton hatcher who mixes things up):

as you can see he has frostbite, poor baby. I read Bobbi's Bogtown chick's thread about her rooster last year and am hoping he'll do ok on his own. so far, so good. he'll loose his comb though and I think some of his wattles.
