Sounds like you are doing everything right. Keep her warm as well. also, when my chickens were sick and wouldn't eat anything, I gave them sweet potato baby food, they love that and will eat that even if they won't eat much of anything else. as they got stronger I mixed there feed and medicine or vitamins in with it (they would start to struggle when I'd try to give them the meds/vitamins)Just advised that basically I did the right thing. Read up some mores - sounds like possibly there is a thiamine deficiency - which is in the B vitamins. Not sure how long it will take for her to bounce back.
I still can't believe I just gave a chicken oral meds tonight..... mercy![]()
Quote: Okay I will have to get some of that to try. I've got her under a heat lamp -- they've all been under one still -- lots of naked skin and not a lot a feathers yet in some spots on these birds.
Rhetts - Nutri Drench is a liquid that's got electrolytes and a lot of other bells and whistles in it. Found it at Tractor Supply today when I went in hunting for the B vitamins.
Just stopped and mashed up the boiled egg. Holy cow she's going to town chomping it down. Mixed it with a little starter crumble. Asking for prayers for her tonight. And the other sickly chicks arcoss the miles.
I am sorry to hear that. This is my first time owning chickens. We started with guineas last year.Mistahbue I had a hen doing that the other day but sadly we lost her. I am thinking heat got her

I've got kiwi and strawberry/banana babyfood in the pantry (don't ask - I eat it for desert sometimes....) I might try that tomorrow. Gonna let her be with the boiled egg for the night.
