Minnesota!

Thats why I leave my duck boat out front, I dont want any neighbors thinking I'm a wine sipper because of some flowers and landscaping.

Yackety Yack.

HaHa Cyrus...so you have some Flowers and Landscaping do ya?!

I'm a bit of a conundrum. I like wine and I like flowers. The chickens love my Landscaping. and there's a duckboat parked next to the front step, September and and October.

I used a heated dog bowl until i got a Farm Innovators HPF-100 3 gallon 100 watt heated poultry fountain for Christmas. I love that thing. It never once froze over so the birds always had water. It is suppose to work to 0 degrees but mine kept water open much much colder than that. It has plug to fill from the bottom but i never used it. When i filled it i would clean it inside and out anyway. That is all i use now. I plan on getting more of them.
Nope, this thing came apart in my run last year, water everywhere. I was a scooping fool trying to get all the water out (with my bare hands in sub zero temps) before it froze and became a slippery hazard right inside my run door. Never again.

So now...I use a 2 gallon hanging bucket with horizontal poultry nipples. I have a birdbath heater inside along with a submersible pump. never froze inside my run. I took a point and shoot thermometer reading of it, the closer you get the top, the warmer it is. So raising the nipples higher may be better. I have two on there low, and one about 3" up. I cannot speak the the cups as i've never used them, you'll have to let us know how it goes.

Count me in among the ones who can pass on Surley beer.... Heavily hopped and dark beers are for lazy brewers. It takes a skilled hand to make light colored and well flavored beers (think any New Glarus brew, Blondes, Golden ales, etc not 'light' beers like Bud light/ coors light etc)
I've never had surley, but I love dark beer, the darker the better. I want to chew it if possible...

We had some company a couple weeks back and I bought some Guiness as they liked that stuff. The left overs are still sitting in the fridge. I think I might make some beer soap out of it. Cuz nobody gunna drink that in our house.

Welcome to the thread MN Chicken.

I only have hens right now. I haven't decided if I want a rooster or not. Outside of watching out for the girls while free ranging and being eye candy, not sure why I would need one, as right now, i'm not raising chicks. But these guys may talk me into it with all their cute chick pics all the time!

You know you want cute little chicks running around

I'm looking to add 2 hens to my flock when these boys are all gone too...I guess I need more chicks haha.

BC.

An old tire certainly would help beautify the place. A duck boat for 2 months hardly counts... I have some Guinness type crap in my fridge too, I was thinking beer pancakes, but why ruin perfectly good pancakes..

Welcome MN Chicken..... Are you sure those are all roosters? Your Delaware rooster looks a lot like my Delaware hen. I have never seen a Delaware rooster so no idea what they look like.
If you do not want to do the deed yourself, those chickens would go fast on Craigslist. I know when I put "normal" roosters (non-CX) on CL they are gone in a day. We have a large enough Asian population in the area that love their scrawny roosters. There is a woman my wife works with that will take most of ours now. I mean those I do not want.

Cryrus, I am sorry, with your anti-bullhead attitude and a coop like that, you have been removed from the Minnesota Redneck club.
