Minnesota!

Dang! read thru 115 posts, hit the multi reply button, but nothing showed up, and for sure I can't remember what those posts were that I thought I was gonna quote!

I'm excited because I have a bonanza of monarch caterpillars, more than I have ever seen here before. I counted 16 in one patch, and I have chrysalises hanging off a garden gate, a fence that is overrun with pumpkin vine, off a shed door, and off a pitchfork (guess I can't use that for awhile).

Flock is happy, but more starting to molt. And....now I've gone 3 whole days in a row with no broody, so thats working too.

I'm liking all the talk about haylage and silage...I never ever knew what went into silo's. Now....the grain bins, I don't understand how you could pour grain in them. How do you get it out? wouldn't it fall out if you opened that door?

Jessie the junk guy around the corner has a damaged grain bin in his junk yard....looks like a tree fell on it or something. but I kinda want it. Not sure what I would do with it. but....don't you think I probably need it?

I never have figured out the multi quote thing. Awesome about your monarch caterpillars!! I think that is pretty cool. Lala I am pretty sure you probably are going to need the bin. :)

DW and I went back to the fair this evening to get some food and walk around (we like to people watch) we ended up sitting through a few rounds of the 4H sheep show. Guess what DW wants to add to our farm next year now :) I dont mind as long as I get to eat some...

@duluthralphie I will add that guy to my 'to call' list for when i get back from my trip. We are taking off first thing after work tonight. I usually try to cut my digital ties when we go on camping trips so starting tomorrow afternoon you guys are on your own

I am curious what you thought went into silos? Corn silage, haylage and high moisture corn in the Harvestores. As for the grain bins, it goes in the top and comes out the bottom. If you have a small one, then you can manually open and close the hatch, but most have an auger system coming out the bottom to empty/offload.

Have a good time KlopKlop.

I picked up my harvested lawn Grass up at my parents place. It was only one 33 gallon bins worth he wind rowed for me. Oh well it's 33 gallons more of grass I have. But I bought two of them. Sun was setting low when I got there anyways. Next time. Plus i have my lawn to get put up tomorrow before our rainy weekend.
Got DH phone all taken care of too tonight. We are all systems go now.

Went foraging today and came home with a couple lobster mushrooms. They are delicious.

Plus DH came home with a huge chicken of the woods his friend gave him. I'm not sure who's all going to be eating this stuff but looking forward to trying it all out with some steaks.

Here's the chicken of the woods. He gave us a 1/3 of it! That's a quart jar of Russian dills in the back to give an idea of how much it is.

I've never been an herbalist. I think the whole movement is wreaking havoc on our society to be perfectly honest. It's so prolific and everybody talks about it like it's ok. Maybe it is. But I thinks there's probably a high quota of Xbox gamers in their 20s letting their work years go up in smoke. The more your chooks eat that crap the better in my humble opinion. Well just in case it's the "other than rope material" kind.
I'll stick to my mushrooms. Ha!
