Well, looks like the weather finally made it here. Birds were put away and hour early since I don't plan to be running around in a storm trying to put them away.
Klop glad you are doing ok.
I think I am going to start shutting down electronics and filling the tub with water. Last summer we had a bad storm and had the power knocked out. no electricity for 3+ days. Lesson learned!

Anyone on here raise bantam EEs? Or any bantams with the muffs and/or beards but not feather-footed? Would prefer a straight comb to a rose comb. Anyone know of any breeds that fit that desciption?

About how long do you think it would take for them to prefer sleeping elsewhere?

Not sure, but once mine started roosting up on the roost which is higher than the nesting box, broody hen not withstanding, they all go to the roost, it is safer up higher...

was it you minniechickmama who said the pressure affects laying? only got 1/3 the normal number of eggs. time to unplug as the first lightening just flashed.

Same here today. I have been getting fewer eggs of late, but today there was about a 75% drop.
