Minnesota!

I was just giving sample questions. those are not a quiz you are suppose to make the quiz bantie!

A witness tree is a tree close to a section line corner that is blazed or scarred with where the corner marker is. We had one here. I have no idea if it is true, but my Dad always use to tell us it was illegal to cut the tree. The one here is still here after the farm was turned into a sub-division. It was an old gnarly tree when I was a kid, I cannot believe it would last longer.

Klopklop I wish it was a typo, it was me guessing at the spelling. We called it swatting, everyone around her did. either that or the H is silent. Swatting was done just before "shocking' I remember that from when I was really young before we got a combine.

Are you going to tell me it is not shocking but Shockhing?
Ralphie, did we grow up together?! It seems like our families talked alike. My family also called it a swatter but I knew it was spelled swather so your question threw me. As for the witness tree, I've never heard that before but our land was lined by either fence or road or swamp so we had no use for one. My uncle's place, however, had an old post that everyone just called the line post. I believe there was a fence there at one time but it was all removed except the corner post.

Our campground neighbors are attempting to cook frozen chicken nuggets over the fire on stocks.

I try my best not to laugh at other campers who have not had the good fortune to grow up camping like I did, but this is a new one for me haha
We were camping once and our friends' kids wanted smoores. After a through search of both campers, all that was found was mini marshmallows. Cheap beer will make you willing to try anything once-didn't work well. I don't remember any other campers there, so the laughs were all ours. Made sure to pack regular mallows the next time.

My hubby is happy ya'll like the pictures of my chickens. He would score higher on the redneck quiz than me, which is odd since he was born in San Diego and only moved here because I was leaving San Diego and invited him. I was a transplant there from MN and since there are people and cars everywhere I couldn't stand it. I suppose he has now lived here more years than he lived there - 27 here, 25 there - so he's had time to learn. He knows all about tannerite and obsessively buys ammunition and is currently wearing camo. But he takes pretty pictures of chickens and hates potato pancakes. When he first saw "pasty" on a menu he pronounced it "paysty" like with an "a" as in "pay." His beard is a good 8" long. People are funny.

Also, I'm getting goats.

It was nice of you to invite your hubby to move with you

One of my fond memories on my grandmas farm growing up was riding around with her in her Case 970 loader tractor And eventually it being the first tractor I learned to drive (I won't get into arguing tractor color) and since she passed last year, now that I have my own farm I have been looking for one like it since I was not able to get hers at the time the estate closed.
Well sure enough a guy posted on on Craigslist not far from me today! Currently he has only listed the loader for sale but notes in the ad he will be posting the tractor soon. I sent him an email asking about a package price. It looks like it needs some tlc but that is ok since that will bring the price down. I would already have to pretty much sell an organ to buy it besides the fact that I have to convince the DW. Not that she wouldn't want me to have it, but because of the money.

One of my most fond memories from when I was a child was sitting in Willard's lap and steering a tractor. I loved the way the cap on the exhaust opened and shut. Our family were the founders of Manorville MN. We went down there every laborday. We still have some relatives there, but Willard was the last Blanch left and past 2 years ago. If you have been there you know of the Hubbel House. When you come in the door there are pictures of my ancestors and there is a Blanch street in the town.
