Minnesota!

Cyrus did you grow up and go to school on the range? If so it would explain a lot.

Canned 56 quarts of tomatoes today with my mom, 1 broke in the canner, so really only 55,  but it is all good, great day for it, not too hot!  She knows I get hot so she put a box fan in the window right in front of where i'd be standing to peal the tomatoes, after they were blanched. It was a good productive time.  I told my mom when I got there, "Oh no, I forgot my canning book you gave me to take notes in"  She said, well, this won't be the last time we can tomatoes, I plan on living quite a few more years, you'll have plenty of time to take more notes."  Hahaha I wasn't thinking this was the last time we'd be canning together, I just wanted my book!  She is funny, she is only 65.  It went fast with two people doing it, so i'm sure i'll do it with her from now on to make it easier on her.  She is only 65, but those canners get heavy.  Plus the boxes of tomatoes.  I love spending time with her. I may have to go over there when she does beets.  I don't think she is doing pickles this year.

We're canning tomatoes as well! Does your mom have tips to share?

My hubby, after 1 year in MN. He shed most of his Californian pretty quick.

Be very careful and watch him closely. From my experience I know an EX-Californian can backslide easy and fast. It could happen when he drives by a Starbucks and decides he needs one. It could happen on a sunny warm day when he finds the need to shed his clothes and put on a spray tan. You just never know what will get him off the path to normalcy.

You have your hands full keeping him from relapsing. I am in awe of your attempts to reform him.
You are a true unsung hero!
