Minnesota!

I am confused. This news headline doesn't make sense to me.
"Gov. Mark Dayton plans for pheasant restoration"

How do you do habitat restoration for an animal that is not a native species? So the DNR and the feds say duck numbers are way up, so why not drain tile a bunch of marshes to make those areas more suitable for an invasive upland bird? Am I missing something here??

Yes. A very gentle and large breed. It can take up to 18 mos. to reach full maturity.

Also blue and splash colors.

Definitely correct on that! I had them for a while. All the do the first year is grow bones, which is why they don't make a good mix for a meat combo. I did love them and I am actually working on getting some from a friend who has good show stock, but whites, which are cool because as well as being big old things, they have willow green legs! Or are supposed to ;)

I'm looking for a BJ breeder as well.

I know you are right, it is always the money with politicians.

However, While I love hunting pheasants. they are an introduced species that helps keep the numbers of predators artificially high, then when the pheasants decrease we (people in the state) have to deal with the overload of predators as do the native populations of prey.

I wonder how much competition they are for sage grouse, prairie hens and bob whites? Pheasants need areas where snow blows off the fields for food also,

I added to my redneck resume today. I somehow popped the tire off the bead on my mower bagger trailer and my air compressor didn't have the flow to re seat the bead. I tried 'something j think I saw on the Internet once' and reset it using a can of ether :)

Now my tire is inflated and I can scratch 'trim arm hair' off my to do list since I don't have much left haha

Wow, that is hard core redneck, I just use a tie down to force the bead out.

I think I am going to keep my guineas!!

I have the leader in prison on death row, Since he is out of the group the others have become well behaved. They have started following the BA that adopted them. The BA is happy leading her little kids around. So I might as well keep them. I enjoy walking them travel across the lawn eating bugs and ticks.

As long as they do not start picking and bullying my other birds and they stay off the road they can stay here. Last night they actually followed the BA into the coop to roost.
