Woot woot!Holm made the top 30 for the BYC calendar! Show us your picture Holm!
Usually just the roosters. I forgot to say that I have a light on a timer for the morning. I just do that because I work nights and get home shortly after seven in the morning and I want them to be awake when I water them so they can all drink before it freezes. I leave it on for a couple of hours so I'm sure it warms the coop a little. On the roosters and hens combs, or just the males? I'll post pics of them soon!
Of course, maybe your wife had me post something on that order just to make you think you have to get rid of them. Maybe she doesn't want them in the house, if you take them out, she wins. You'll have to decide just how devious her mind is.You are a very evil human being! Why would you even put a horrible idea like this in my mind?
I may have to throw out the "shop" stools now!
BBL... Headed to Aussiegals with her rooster.
Do you have a problem with your chickens eating your hen & chick plants? Mine seem to like them even better than their scratch. If I don't fence them (the plants) in, they're gobbled up in minutes. How my day has been going:
Yesterday I split up two clusters of peonies and moved them around (the green spikes in the middle of the fresh compost). Then I moved most of the rocks. Those came out of the granary and I think this was a good use of them. In the middle section under the "tower" we will put sand and then do something with hens and chicks in planters (old rusted chicken waterers). I have a bunch of spring blooming bulbs order, so those will go in here along with perennials I bought this summer and need to get in there quick. I will likely put some annuals in for color, but this is mostly going to be a perennial garden. And with the hooks still up from the swings, we can hand or trellis things up those as well. The tree on the front end is a Japanese lilac we got this Spring. All compost is from the chicken poop/litter and grass clippings and any dead birds and bad eggs that didn't hatch, and any scraps the chickens don't get. It is pretty nice stuff, but I keep finding bones in it LOL.
I guess the new chicken hoop will get done tomorrow.
I hope everyone got a chance to enjoy the beautiful day!!
