glad your bella came through, you must be exhausted. in between taking care of your dogs and chickens, hope you can do a little taking care of yourself too!

I wonder if they will hatch in the winter?

Whenever I see a newborn anything, I feel like I need 12 of each. DH really loves that about me! Just kidding....

I just set about 3 1/2 dozen Silkie eggs this week. I only got a handful of Blues this year. Since the girls were laying really really well, I thought I would toss some in. Over half of them are developing. Some were over 10 days old when I put them in, so I will take what I can get.

Fingers are crossed for you! Do you think you'll get some more blues?

Based on the antics in my yard today we ought to be getting our own chicks in the near future.. But who the baby daddy is remains to be hatched.

good news, tonight the rooster went in the coop all by himself and got up on a shelf roost and tucked himself away behind a hay pile. a few hens roosted next to him without any problem. I was pretty surprised he figured out how to get in on his own. He's doing good.

busy day, harvested the brussel sprouts, went to crex meadows and watched the sandhill cranes come in, hit the cheese co-op, played with chickens and quails....my daughter and I made campfire cakes - one for tonight and one to take to a gathering tomorrow.




and...he crowed this morning! I've been watching him stretch his neck, and open his beak, and.....nothing! So this morning, finally, he crowed. ANd crowed again, til Jenny the Bo came running and chased him around a bit.

Well, we processed some apples today. Got a late start on it but managed to can 36 quarts of apple sauce and I have 3 crocks cooking down some for apple butter. We did a little over 150 pounds of apples. oooo eeee. I am tired but satisfied with the progress. I will take tomorrow off. Well, off of canning that is. The laundry is a sight to be seen!! Then we will hit the apples again on Monday.

Seems quiet tonight round here. But I supposes it is a weekend and folks are out having fun. Enjoy this weather while it lasts. Those cold cold temps will be here sooner than we are ready for.

BTW those cakes look DELICIOUS Lala!!!

ohh my 87 post-to catch up on... 1st i will give update on my day then i will go read them all hopefully before i fall asleep...

Today was pretty hard my Bella(dog) with 5 teeth left,, went to get them cleaned today, they put her out ended up taking the rest of her teeth so now i have 2 toothless puppies..LOL.. anyways she stopped breathing and they couldn't wake her up so they put her on oxygen and gave me a call. So i went there and sat with her all day. finally after almost 5 hours she started breathing on her own then they got her to wake up... I was so Happy Love my little girl.. The loss would have been to much right now.. I'm glad she is home, drugged up and drooling blood on my bed but I don't care... Now i have 2 dogs with stitches at this time.. And Im Happy...
Hope everyones Day ended well today with everyone Happy and Healthy...

and My chicken with the bad ear is doing awesome the swelling is almost gone now just mostly a scab, she is not yawning and scratching so much. couple days on Ivomec and it is doing wonders.. Thank You all for the help with her.. Im glad i didnt have to put her down.. maybe soon she can join her friends...

Glad you are with your toothless pup again. Sorry it was such a rough day though.

If these hatch well, I will probably have extras once they are grown and able to sex them. I have 3 Blue cockerels right now if you want any? Why? Are you looking for some?
