Minnesota!

Klop there is a difference between need and want, and in my world want overrules need. Get your privates out of your wife's purse and buy that gun! JUST KIDDING!!
Now Ralphie, you know it would be in violation of Federal Laws to shoot any raptor, but I suppose it would not be a violation to shoot near them to scare them away?
I employ a hawk trap which allows for live removal to a distant location.

You are only doing what any good husband would do. You are not really buying that gun for yourself, you are buying it to make your spouse feel safer and more secure in her home. This is a totally selfless act on your part, I think you should reward yourself on being such a loving caring husband by purchasing something you want for yourself, not the gun your wife needs you to buy.

Maybe a new ATV??

Perhaps that's should read "... Not JUST the gun your wife needs you to buy" hahahahahaha

I understand completely, and was being flippant about shooting the goshawk.

I am willing to bet your live trap. for relocation purposes, looks a lot like mine. I take those I catch to Rochester and release them there.

Yeah yeah, we all talk big, don't we.... I'm a firm believer in the 'happy wife, happy life' motto. I just have to swing things right and I can still get what I want while keeping her from being upset with me. Ralphie knows all about these tactics. It all about convincing her it was her idea all along!

What does a hawk trap look like?

I am sorry, I cannot reveal a picture of my trap to you until I know you have the proper training, security clearance, ability and the proper mind set to use the trap without running afoul of any state or federal law.

Now if you are interested. I happen to be offering a Goshawk live trapping seminar in the near future. If you complete the course with a grade of 87% or better, we would show you a trap.

I am not a big advocate of crafty deception as a means to get things done. If I were and was good at it I would go into politics. There definitely is logic to the happy wife, happy life philosophy.
As in Ralphies case how could the woman which I have graced with my selection be anything but happy?
A hawk trap is a cage device which has a section with a live bait bird. When the hawk attacks it becomes trapped. The bait bird is in a separate section and neither is harmed in the process.
I must tell you that I am not sure that it is legal to use, but I don't care.

I would definitely recommend Ralphies course for any serious poultryman.

While to us it normal to have happy wives, it is only because we are such great husbands others have to strive to be what we naturally are....
