Minnesota!

A new thread was pointed out to me by the people on the turkey thread.
It is the "BYC molt contest. It has pictures of chickens that are painful to see, the molt is so bad.

My personal favorite is number 34, the turkey wearing the butterball wrapper. (well, that's what I thought when I first saw it)

Ralphie I like my standard size birds. So I don't see another roadrunner in my future. Unfortunately. I'm going for a couple wellies and a couple ameracaunas I think. I want a pretty egg carton. The roadrunner would give me blue. But they look like robin eggs ( diamond encrusted no less) and about as rare. Lol.

My birds haven't molted that hard to win any thing other than a "meh" on those sorts of threads. Lol

oh happy day!  went out at dawn, did the chickie chickie call while walking around looking for evidence, and out from the woods comes running and half flying the missing Jenny!  wet, bedraggled, but unharmed.  I'll take a closer look later this morning to check for puncture wounds in case a hawk carried her off, but judging from the lack of missing feathers I odn't think thats a problem.  she hasn't molted yet.

the woods she came from are not where my flock has ever ever wandered, as it is past the meadow.

I'm sure I annoyed all the hunters with my calling not to mention cries of jubilation, but....
Super happy Jenny came home. Hopefully she learned a lesson not to wander to far again..

I made shrimp for dinner last night. I am not sure if it was the shrimp or the sauce I made with it, but I woke up with a very unhappy tummy today. Had to take kids to school, which was not part of my plan. I came home and was making a list of things I need to run and pick up for this fund raiser, and did some vacuuming. The phone rings, it is State Farm. Some very young guy starts telling me they are not paying for this bumper damage. I got a little POed, but I just said I wasn't going to talk about it further right now. I then called my agent and explained the whole thing to him. It is the other driver who's policy is supposed to cover this, but she is also with SF. So, of course, like we talked about, they are trying to keep every penny they can from going out. I then checked with the auto body guy and he said what they don't want to pay is the fiberglass cover for the bumper. I asked if it is salvageable and he said it probably is. SO, I called my agent again and told him I just want the da** thing to get in and be fixed, and I expect any damage that woman caused in hitting me to be paid by SF, period.
This is such BS, because you know those companies are making ridiculous amounts of money and their profits ALWAYS are going up, yet they screw their customers as hard and as often as they can. Greedy !)(#*%_#$*(@#$^)%)(&#$(@#&($*)(@#$)#(*%)&)#(*)@$(&)&%@#s!!!!!!! And the woman who hit me? She had to get a new radiator. One day in the shop and she is driving again. My van is still sitting here because I have to disconnect the battery every time I shut it off because the stupid lights won't shut off inside. Grrrrr!

All I want to do today is go back to bed.

, I hate getting the run around.

I had SF when I got married, 25 years ago. I had them for close to 10 years prior to my marriage, Anyway about a month after my wedding I got a letter from them stating they were dropping me. No explanation, no warning, nothing, just good-bye. The only thing we could think of was about 2 years before we were married, my husband was ticketed for driving without insurance. He was unemployed at the time and couldn't afford it (he was also young and stupid-well maybe not so young but acted like it). Anyway we got a different insurance and never looked back. I'm kinda glad that happened as I've heard others say that it is difficult to get them to pay for anything.
On a side note, I now have American Family and I was pleasantly surprised this summer when I hit a deer with my car and not only were they fast about getting it fixed, they seemed more concerned about it than I was. I had taken it to a old friend who's a body shop man, it was supposed to be done by Thursday but he had a family emergency so didn't get it done until over the weekend. I told him not to worry about it (I had the truck to drive and don't have far to go to work so it wasn't a big deal). The insurance adjuster called me Friday (because she knew it was supposed to be done) to check on how everything was. When I told her it wasn't done yet, she started talking about calling him and finding out why it was delayed and what the hold-up was and everything else. I finally calmed her down enough to explain that he had called me and I was OK with it. She then called again the next week to make sure I had it back and that everything was fixed.

Correct me if i am wrong, but i thought American Insurance was an insurance agent and didn't actually have their own insurance.

Lala. Didn't i tell you she may come back!! Hooray!!

Ralphie. I ate the last of my chicken for lunch today. I had froze the left overs. So good. Thanks again. You rock.
What were you talking about needing a helmet for? Didn't see anyone picking on you.

That's good service and right there you probably will recommend that company to ten of your friends. I wonder if Minnie will recommend State Farm to any of her friends. Good customer service translates to success. This would be a good talking point with State Farm Minnie. If they even care... That would be the only problem. Lost business and poor reputation over one bumper. I wonder if they feel it's worth the fight honestly.

We have State Farm as well. My husbands first cousin sells it to us. His cousin is like a brother to him. So maybe we get taken care of too. So far no issues.

Tootsie and the girls got left over oatmeal this morning. I feel like spoiling them today.
